My computer keep restarting at the loading screen, it won’t BSOD or anything, but it will stop and just restart it’s self, I can’t get anywhere. I tried it in safe mode and it just said it was missing a file. Any ideas?? I have Windows XP.? Please help me!!

It’s always difficult when Windows will not boot due to a missing file, but using a repair installation is a quick and easy way to get back to using your machine again.? All you need to do is gather your installation disk and follow the instructions below and you should be back to repairing the missing file and using your machine in no time!

First, insert the CD into your ROM drive and reboot your computer.

Next, (from the instructions from Microsoft here🙂

1.? When the Press any key to boot from CD message is displayed on your screen, press a key to start your computer from the Windows XP CD.

2. Press ENTER when you see the message To setup Windows XP now, and then press ENTER displayed on the Welcome to Setup screen.

3.? Do not choose the option to press R to use the Recovery Console.

4.? In the Windows XP Licensing Agreement, press F8 to agree to the license agreement.

5.? Make sure that your current installation of Windows XP is selected in the box, and then press R to repair Windows XP.

6.? Follow the instructions on the screen to complete Setup.

After you finish your repair install, you should be prompted for a reboot which should take care of your missing file and you will be able to boot into Windows normally again!
