How do I disable the Windows Vista User Account Control function?? I just find it annoying that I have to approve every little action even though I am the administrator!? Other then that everything works great!

One Vista security feature that’s gotten a bit of a hit has been the User Account Control or UAC.? I find it’s a bit unnecessary; if you have a good anti-spyware and anti-virus, you should be more then fine.

Here’s how to disable the UAC:

  • Maneuver to the Start Button
  • Click on the Control Panel
  • Choose User Accounts
  • Click Turn User Account Control on or off.
  • At the prompt, select Continue (at the next screen, uncheck Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer)
  • Then click OK.
  • Restart your computer and feel the instant liberation of non-pestering approval pop-ups!
